It has been a while that I was here and like always it is a pleasure being here as the employees are always friendly and joking with their clients the food is always excellent and lastย but not least, the paper hangs proper. ๐Ÿ™‚

Interesting week as now I’m all in the south near Munich and tomorrow I will continue to Stuttgart and then via my home continue to Hanover. That will be in total 1.355 KM…Another week in paradize…

last but not least, the proof ๐Ÿ™‚

Bloody Luftwaffe!!!

March 27, 2011

this is really annoying. I always check in my suitcase but on Monday when I flew out to Barcelona all of sudden I was asked to put my pilot case also on the belt. It weight 12 KG so I had take 4 KG out and put it in my suitcase. I was flabbergasted as this never happens unless you are flying with a small plane. The lady explained to me that because they have new ergonomic seats which gives them another row they had to do this.

Complete bollocks as it doesn’t change the size of my pilot case! On my way back it was the same story and this guy made even jokes about it. “Well sir, then you should buy a Business Class ticket” JERK, in what kind of world do you live!!

Now the issue is the following, my case weights 4,6KG and my laptop alone weights 3KG. with other words, I have 400gr left over for everything else! Again the jerk made a joke; “Well sir, you should get a Mac” This idiot really thinks that there are companies that give you business class tickets and Mac’s..

So I came back in Frankfurt and went straight into the Luftwaffe shop to buy me a new Samsonite trolley which weights 3.3KG which gives me a 4,7KG….

The next morning I was prepared to blow somebody of this planet when I checked in as this case had cost me โ‚ฌ239,-. Guess what happened?, Nothing, Nada, Niente, Nichts!! no check, no nothing!!!

What annoys me is not that they check it but the fact that they only check the people who check their luggage in! There are one bazzilion people who print out their boarding pass at home and then go straight to the gate with a small suitcase and a laptop case and those are the assholes who block all overhead compartments!

….now I feel better….

from Barcelona the trip went back to Frankfurt and then down to Rome for the next exhibition. I wanted to have a round trip Frankfurt-Barcelona-Rome-Frankfurt but our bloody system asked โ‚ฌ1300,- for it while 2 trips (Frankfurt-Barcelona and then Frankfurt-Rome) cost half ofย  it. That mad it of course painful..

The hotel was nice but they are rebuilding it which mend that half of it was ready and the other half not. I got a brand new room which was nich but the internet didn’t work and that is a nogo for me. As i decided not to go out for dinner but have dinner in the hotel you always face the problem that it is bloody expensive. what made it even more disturbing was the fact that my dinner cost me โ‚ฌ50,- while the room cost me โ‚ฌ41,16

whatever, the paper was hanging properly and let’s see what the 3 hotels next week bring me.

Design is useless…

March 23, 2011

Well first I liked the room but the next morning I found out that my batchroom is bloody useless, looks nice but that is it.

no possibilty to hang up your stuff or the towel, no space to put you own stuff and a sink so small that it is very hard to prepare yourself for shaving plus the fact that half the water spills on the floor…ooh and you can’t shut the sink so you’re using far to much water…

Looking out of the window is also not really exiting, at least no noise ๐Ÿ™‚

for 3 days in Barcelona for an exhibition. trip itself was nothing special except that I had 3 complete drunk Russians in front of me who brought additional booze with themand emtied 2 half liter bottles during the flight…

Nice hotel, very stylish as you can see from the pictures I took.

ย

and of course the paper was hanging correct.

As I love Spanish Tapas I found this place called Tapas24 and the food was fantastic, not cheap but very nice ๐Ÿ™‚

daily changing menu

is was a quiet boring week but now I’m ramping up for a bunch of new hotels and toilet paper. But before that comes I stayed again in my favorite Holiday Inn in Hannover Airportย and yes the paper was hanging proper again. ๐Ÿ™‚

The whole week home office, no loo’s, no travel night mares, no nothing…..

Currently at an exhibition in Hannover and as the hotel prices are allows outrageous during CeBIT we are all staying 40 KM away in the village called Hodenhagen. For those not familiar with the German language, Hoden are translated testicles ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow, same place as last year and the paper is again hanging correct. The LAN is FOC so another plus.

2 more days and then finally weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Why me?

March 1, 2011

As you might know I’m a complete Dummy when it comes to public transportation but as I had done this trip before I felt pretty confident….kinf off as I’m never confident when it comes to trains and busses. So I had to travel back from Sandwell & Dudley near Birmingham to London Euston which means jump into the train and 1,5 hours later jump off again….

Then it happened, 5 minutes before the train arrived there was this message about a 10 minutes delay but I felt still confident. When the train finally arrived they told us that this train would make multiple stops and then end at Milton Keynes because there was a power down somewhere in the Midlands. Now I went into panic mode as I still had to catch a plane and not knowing how I’ll get back. Well I had to leave this train at Birmingham New Street, walk to another station called Moore Street and with some help I did find it and then take a train from a different company called Chiltern Railway and with this diesel powered train drive to Marylebone station in London. I hadn’t had breakfast in the morning as I still had enough from last delicious dinner and had made my mind up to have a sandwich in the Virgin train…guess what, that didn’t happen and this line had no service whatsoever on board. This train took 2 hours to arrive and I was getting worried if I would make it back to Heathrow.

I was emialing with a technical expert in germany and he replied to my story with the remark “Mind the Gap” I coulnd’t resist to take such a picture and sent it to him ๐Ÿ™‚

After arriving in Maylebone I jumped into a cab to continue to paddington Station but a bus was blocking the exit, it took a while to figure out why. It was a wheelchair person which the bus driver had to help out. I started to get this feeling that now everything was against me. 5 past 4 we arrived at Paddington and I ran off to the platform, thank god I know the way here as just 5 minutes later we headed towards LHR. This express only takes 15 minutes to Terminal 1 so now I felt confortable again. Arriving then at the airport you have to cross all the way through the hall as Lufthansa is at the far end..I wonder why? Anyhow, checked in at 4:30 and at 4:40 I entered the lounge and grapped 10 KG of sandwiches as I was starving.

In Heathrow they will show just shortly before boarding which gate you have and most of the times you will need to walk a long distance but today I had the feeling that my bad luck was moving to the positive side as our gate was just next to the lounge. Well I shouldn’t have thought this way because when we all boarded the captain came over the speaker. I don’t know but I can hear just out of the tone of the captain that something is wrong and then they always start with the sentence; “ladies and gentlemen, we’re basically ready but we have a slot time” Then everybody is holding his breath because you want to know how long the delay is. Well in our case we got a slot time one hour later because of heavy tail winds in Frankfurt. We finally took off and after a quiet flight we arrived at Frankfurt at 20:15 which wasn’t too bad. The plane stopped and then nothing happened. Somehow we took Fraport by surprise as there were no busses so we waited another 10 minutes until we finally disembarked. The good thing about this (there is always a positive on a negative ๐Ÿ™‚ ) is the fact that you know that when you finally arrive at the belt your luggage is waiting for you. This was indeed the case and I just grabbed it and went to the parking lot….

Some jerk with his giant mercedes had parked so close to my car that I couldn’t get in. So I went to the other side but there another idiot parked even closer to my car. 2 possibilities, either through the back which is a big hassle or try it again on the driver side. I tried the driver side and felt like I’m made of rubber by sqeezing myself in..it worked and I hope I damaged the door of that idiot!

I have some colleagues in israel who believe my live is honey…yeah right!

tomorrow heading to an exhibition in Hannover and I’m already tired..23:30 I’m ging to bed. Good Night everybody
